In England, the gin and tonic isn’t treated like other cocktails, but exists in a class of its own. It is truly the English national cocktail, appearing on the menu of every neighbourhood pub, as well as starring in gin-themed bars. In London, we discovered that half the fun of a G&T lies in working out which combination of tonics and garnishes will bring out the best from each gin.
