This lower-alcohol version of the classic drink calls for Japanese shochu. A perfect start to a Japanese-themed dinner!
2 ounces shochu
1 ounce Triple Sec or Cointreau
3/4 ounce lemon juice
dash of orange bitters
1/4 teaspoon brown sugar (optional)
Combine ingredients in shaker with ice. Shake thoroughly and strain into coupe glass. Garnish with citrus twist or dried rose petal.
